dating Titi Sanumi, became angry
when she got tired of their
relationship and decided to call it
off.

home, threw in a jerry can filed
with petroleum and set the home
ablaze. Eight members of Titi's

Centre, Ondo town in Ondo State.

CAST9JA: Rivers APC accepts to work with Wike, gives governor conditions

CAST9JA: Rivers APC accepts to work with Wike, gives governor conditions

The All Progressives Congress,
APC in Rivers State has declared
its readiness to work with
Governor Nyesom Wike-led
administration to move the state
forward.
But the APC added a caveat that it
will work with Wike if only the
Governor will show some level of
commitment on his extension of
olive branch to members of other
political parties.
The APC maintained that the
protection of lives and properties
and development of Rivers people
and its residents were top
priorities of the party.
Senator representing Rivers East
Senatorial District, Senator
Andrew Uchendu who read out
the position of the APC at the
party secretariat on Aba road
said the APC is worried about the increase of insecurity in Rivers
state, declaring that the party will
do everything to support the
current government in the
restoration of peace and security. The Rivers East senator said it is
the expectation of APC that the
broadcast by Governor Wike will
end all forms of hate speech and
restore peace and security in the
state.

“We cannot continue to toy with
the lives of our people or take
them for granted. A key indicator
of good governance is the
protection of the lives and
property of our people. To achieve this, Wike can draw from
the experience of his
predecessor, Rotimi Amaechi who
met a similar security situation
and infrastructural decay but was
able to address these challenges to move the state forward. Then,
Governor Wike was the Chief of
Staff and can personally attest to
that.

“Life in Rivers state has become
brutish and worthless with
reports of kidnapping and killings
every other day in the media. We
expect the Governor to take up to
the issue of security of lives and property. We can offer immediate
help to show our commitment to
solve this problem.

“The revitalization of the C4i
Security arrangement,
rehabilitation of sons and
daughters of Rivers state that are
roaming the streets of foreign
lands because the scholarship of their state government is no
longer there, re-activation of the
Greater Port Harcourt project,
completion of some laudable
projects of the former Governor,
Rotimi Amaechi because millions of money has been invested, and
another critical one is the issue of
unemployment.

“Let us assure Governor Wike of
our sincerity that the All
Progressive Congress will never
shy away from doing all it can to
ensure a more secured, peaceful
and prosperous Rivers State.

“We, therefore, join our forces
to a peaceful and desired Rivers
state; one in which every
stakeholder is treated equally.
We want to believe for the first
time that Governor Wike is sincere because Rivers state must
move forward,” Senator
Uchendu said.
Responding to questions, Senator
Uchendu disclosed that APC was
not sponsoring any case in the
tribunal in the just concluded
general elections since it did not
field any candidate but was more interested in the peace and
development of Rivers state,
rather than individual interest.

Recall that Governor Nyesom
Wike had immediately after his
declaration for second term in
office made a live broadcast
where he extended hands of
fellowship to other political parties.

The Minister of Transportation,
Rotimi Amaechi who doubles as
the leader of APC in the state on
his Easter Message also called for
peace and unity as well as
support for the development of Rivers state.

Live Scorpion: It stink me some time ago

Live Scorpion

Live Scorpions
The day scorpion stinked me it was as if my village people has come.
Scorpions do produce venom. The scary-looking tail is actually 5 segments of the abdomen, curved upward, with a final segment called a telson at the end. The telson is where the venom is produced. At the tip of the telson is a sharp needle-like structure called the aculeus. That's the venom delivery apparatus. A scorpion can control when it produces venom and how potent the venom is, depending on whether it needs to kill prey or defend itself from predators.

She died after delivering twins last week is dead

She died after delivering twins last week is dead

The inmate of the Calabar Prison
that delivered twins at the
General Hospital Calabar on April
17 has died at the University of
Calabar Teaching Hospital due to
postnatal complications.

The Prison authority disclosed this
in a statement by ASP Effanga
Etim, Public Relations Officer of
the State Prison Command on
Wednesday in Calabar.

He said that the mother of the
twins died two days after
delivery.
The Command, however,
debunked media reports that the
twins were delivered in the
prison command in Calabar.

He explained that the deceased
was remanded by a High Court in
Calabar on Nov. 5, 2018 with six
month-old pregnancy for the
offence of child stealing.
“While in prison, she had been
under regular ante-natal care at
the General Hospital, Calabar. On
17th of April, 2019 by 1:30pm
when her labour began, she was
admitted in the same hospital and a Caesarean Section was carried
out on her.’’

Speaking to NAN on behalf of the
state government, the
Commissioner for Health, Dr
Inyang Asibong, expressed shock
over the inmate’s death, saying
that the state government had already taken up the care of the
twins.

“Following the release from the
prison authorities about her
death, I wish to state that we will
continue to do our best for the
care of the children,’’ she said.

SEED OF DESTINY THURSDAY, 25 APRIL, 2019

KINGDOM SERVICE: A WAY TO A LIFE OF HONOUR

When you serve the
Master, you draw from
the benefits that flow from
the Master naturally.

SCRIPTURE: Whoso keepeth
the fig tree shall eat the
fruit thereof: so he that
waiteth on his master
shall be honoured.
Proverbs 27:18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
When you serve the
Master, you draw from
the benefits that flow from
the Master naturally.

Previously, we saw that it
is God’s desire for His
people to live in honour
and glory. We saw that
there are secrets that a
child of God has to know and practice in order to
live this honourable life.

Today we shall be looking
at yet another secret to
living an honourable life,
and that is kingdom
service.

Our anchor scripture tells
us that, ‘…he who waits
on his master shall be
honoured, and (this
includes God, the Master of
the universe).

Kingdom service is a
secret to a life of honour.
In the Book of First Samuel
Chapter 9, and in Verse 6,
Samuel was referred to as
an honourable man.

Beloved, you cannot
genuinely serve God and
die in mockery and
reproach. Whenever you
carry the mantle of
service, you are carrying a crown of honour. When
you serve the Master, you
draw from the benefits
that flow from the Master
naturally. The things that
belong to the Master overflow to you by virtue
of your service to Him.

My counsel is, give
yourself to God in service.
Do not waste your time
going to Church and doing
nothing for God. Do not just
be a bench warmer, an ordinary hand-clapper, or
an amen-shouter that is
absolutely uninvolved in
the affairs of God’s
house; it is a waste of time
and life. There are many things God cannot do with
a man whom He has not
found useful. Serve God
faithfully.

REMEMBER THIS: When you
serve the Master, you
draw from the benefits
that flow from the Master
naturally.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Endeavour to involve
yourself in a department
in Church if you have not
done so.

2. Serve God faithfully in
the assignment of soul-
winning (John 15:16).

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for
the grace to serve You
continually. Help me Know
You and serve You
faithfully, Lord in Jesus’
Name.

What comes to boys mind wen she comes for visits

What comes to boys mind wen she comes for visits

Some guys do think that any girl
that visited him, came for sex.
No bro!
Any true and genuine girl might
not come for sex.

She visits you, all you think of is
sex!
My bro, visiting you was an
opportunity for you to make her
trust you.
Visiting you was an opportunity for her to gain your emotional
security.

Visiting you was an opportunity
for you to see if you can work
together.

But all you could see in her, is to
imagine how sweet she will be on
bed.
Boom, you carried her to your
small mattress, she said, "no" lets
not rush into this. You paid deaf ear and either
raped her or pressurized her into
having sex with you.
After that, you tell her, "baby am
sorry, it was the devils
handwork".

Why not seat and have a heart to
heart talk with, look straight into
her eyes and let her see how
sincere you are.

Why not hold her hands and let
her feel the strength of you ready
to support her hand.

Why not try a cooking together in
the kitchen to make her believe
your supportive abilities?

Why not play some games with
her, joke, laugh and make her
trust your jovial and social
capabilities?

Why not read your bible with her
to let her see your spiritual
leadership qualities?

Why not read novels, books etc
with her to make her believe
your intellectual and brilliance
tendencies?

That's why I do tell some guys,
buy ludo, whot, bible, novels etc
and not condom.

When you know you have bible,
novels, ludo or whot at home, you
will surely want to play with her.
But when you know you have
condom at home, you will surely
think of using it.

Thinking or imagining sex will
never allow you see her worth.

Be a good boy I Love you

Chibok girls: CACOL reiterates calls for their release, tasks Buhari

Chibok girls: CACOL reiterates calls for their release, tasks Buhari

The Centre for Anti-Corruption
and Open Leadership, CACOL, has
called on the President
Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal
Government to leave no stone
unturned in securing the release of the Chibok girls who were
kidnapped on the night of 15th of
April, 2014, including the
kidnapped Leah Sharibu and
others still in the captivity of Boko
Haram insurgents.

This demand was contained in a
release issued to DAILY POST on
Saturday by the Centre’s
executive chairman, Mr. Debo
Adeniran.

He said: “Those girls have not
been secured completely because
of the lack of adequate will to
explore all necessary processes
required to bring back the girls.
There is inadequate intelligence, commitment and funding of those
cognate forces required to
achieve the feat.

“All of these observed
inadequacies combine to elongate
the confinement of these hapless
ladies (since they could no longer
be referenced as girls, no more,
because if they had been allowed fertile access to their education,
many of them would have
completed their service year
now, as they were preparing for
their final West African Senior
School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) during their abduction
some five years ago). It is
therefore appropriate to imply
that some of them would have
finished their University
education and 1 year compulsory service to their nation, had the
situation been different.”

CACOL said that though, successive
governments have been paying
lip service regarding efforts to
bring the girls back, their parents
and the generality of Nigerians
need to be constantly kept abreast of proof of life for as
many as still possible amongst
them, their location, and
whatever fate has befallen them,
from time to time.

According to the group, this was
the only acceptable response of a
deserving government. It added that “This much would
not have been difficult, if there
had been an effective intelligence
and cooperative endeavor with
neighboring countries, like Chad,
Cameroon, Niger and any other places, where these insurgents
have made their focus of
activities.”

It maintained that the Federal
Government has to demonstrate
greater political will and put in
more workable strategies and
effective cooperative endeavours,
with neighboring countries to achieve tangible outcomes that
should be patently evident.

On Leah Sharibu, the abducted
Dapchi schoolgirl, CACOL said, “It
is just not enough for the
government to keep on
reassuring Nigerians that Leah is
alive and well, but that extra efforts must be made to secure
her release, in view of the fact
that those abducted
simultaneously with her had since
regained their freedom on the
intervention of the state while she is still in captivity due to her
conscientious objection as an
avowed adherent of her religious
conviction.

“We therefore, advise that, the
Buhari-led administration should
take a step further, by stamping
its foot in the sands of time
through a complete overhaul of
the security architecture of Nigeria in a way that reinforces
the sacredness of lives and
properties of all Nigerians and
make provisions of their social
welfare a thing of primary
concern to the government rather than illicit accumulation of
commonwealth by those
entrusted with power.”

Seconds after, he called my mum

talking, my
mum stood up and rushed into the room to

Buhari makes new appointment

Buhari makes new appointment

President Muhammadu Buhari has
approved the appointment of Mr
Liman Ibrahim as the new
Controller-General (CG) of the
Federal Fire Service (FFS).

A statement signed by Al-Hassan
Yakmut, Secretary, Civil Defence,
Fire, Immigration and Prisons
Services Board (CDFIPB) on
Thursday in Abuja said that the
appointment took effect from March 29.

Yakmut said that Ibrahim’s
appointment was made following
the retirement of Mr Joseph
Anebi, the former fire service
boss.

“The appointment is for an initial
term of 4 years and subject to the
extant rules and regulations
governing retirement in the public
service,” he said

Killings: Reps give Buhari 48 hours to address House, nation

Killings: Reps give Buhari 48 hours to address House, nation

The House of Representatives has
requested President Muhamnadu
Buhari to address the House and
the nation within 48 hours.

This followed a motion under
matters of public importance by
Rep Mark Gbillah (PDP-Benue) at
Thursday plenary, presided over
by Speaker Yakubu Dogara in
Abuja, NAN reports.

Moving the motion, Gbillah, who
represents Gwer-East/Gwer-West
Federal Constituency, said the
House was concerned by I
creasing attacks by “killer
herdsmen and alleged bandits in communities in Benue, Kaduna,
Zamfara and other states from
Jan. till date.”

He noted that this had resulted in
the loss of hundreds of innocent
lives and the displacement of
thousands of Nigerians who had
fled their homes and means of
livelihood for fear of losing their lives.

”The House is alarmed at the
brazen nature of the attacks by
the herdsmen and alleged bandits
who attack these communities
with impunity brazenly clad in
military fatigues and audibly communicating with each other in
Fulani as reported by eyewitness
accounts from the recent attacks
in Kaduna.

”Obviously emboldened by the
inability of the Nigerian armed
forces to curb their activities,
these killers have gradually
progressed from attacking
remote villages at night to sacking whole towns in brood
daylight displacing residents and
occupying affected
communities,” he said.

According to him, the House is
disappointed at the reactive
responses of the Nigerian armed
forces to these attacks under this
administration and their inability
to proactively attack the publicly known locations of these
herdsmen or establish a
permanent base at restive
locations in line with globally
recognised rules of engagement.

The lawmaker also expressed
worry over the inability of the
National Emergency Management
Agency (NEMA) to fulfil its
statutory mandate of providing
relief materials and rehabilitation to hopeless displaced persons and
their affected communities.

He stressed that the House could
no longer condone the continuous
killing of innocent Nigerians with
impunity despite the plethora of
motions and resolutions passed
on the floor of the House and the Senate.

”We have no other option than
to directly engage the President
and Commander In Chief of the
Armed Forces who has primary
responsibility for the security and
welfare of every Nigerian citizens,” Gbillah stated. When the motion was put on a
voice vote by the Speaker,
Dogara, the whole members
unanimously supported it. The lawmakers, however,
resolved that President Buhari
should “address the House and
the nation within 48 hours on: his
inability and the inability of his
administration since inception to declare the killer herdsmen as
terrorists to enable
commensurate action against
them by the armed forced.

”The inability of the armed
forces under his watch to stop the
recurring death of scores of
innocent Nigerians annually from
systematic attacks by killer
herdsmen and alleged bandits and the gradual occupation of affected
communities by these herdsmen
despite countless assurances and
statements by him promising to
stop the attacks.

”His selective and ineffective
responses to the killing of
Nigerians by herdsmen especially
when they occur in certain parts
of the country like Benue.

”The immediate measures he
intends to employ as the C-In-C to
provide the armed forces,
including the police with the
required resources (equipment,
welfare, etc) to confront and dislodge the killer herdsmen from
their hideouts.

”The measures he intends to
employ to establish permanent
presence in immediate proximity
to affected communities and
provide a timeline within which
these attacks will be curtailed so Nigerians can return to their
ancestral homes and means of
livelihood, among others.”

The House resolved that if the
president failed to respond to
aforementioned requests within
48 hours, he and his
administration would be seen as
incapable of permanently curtailing the incessant killing of
innocent Nigerians by killer
herdsmen and the occupation of
their land. It added that the government
would be termed to have failed in
its primary constitutional
responsibility of ensuring the
security and welfare of the
citizens of Nigeria.

The House, therefore, constituted
an ad hoc committee to interface
with the Presidency and engaged
the Minister of Defence, Chief of
Defence Staff. service Chiefs,
among others, in a public hearing to determine permanent solutions
to the menace.

safe return of the Director of the
State Fire Service, Mr Rasaki
Musibau, and others abducted in the state on Saturday.

DAILY POST recalls that Musibau
and six others were abducted by
unknown gunmen on Saturday at
about 8.00pm on Iwoye Bridge, on
Itoikin-Epe Road.

But speaking to journalists shortly
after the state Security Council
meeting chaired by Gov.
Akinwunmi Ambode in Alausa,
Ikeja, on Tuesday, Muazu said
that everything necessary was being done to secure their
release.

According to him, security
agencies are working round the
clock to rescue them safely.

He expressed optimism of
positive result soon, but declined
to give further details on the
ongoing operation to rescue the
victims.

“I confirm that there was

and all the security agencies in
the state are working toward the
safe release of the victims.

“For now, this is all I need to

Muazu said all security agencies
were working seriously to put a
stop to a likely return of
kidnapping to the state, adding
that there was nothing to worry
about, NAN quoted him as saying.

Commenting on the meeting, the
CP said that the council also
extensively reviewed the
security situation in the state.

NAF kills 25 armed bandits, neutralises dozens in Zamfara

NAF kills 25 armed bandits, neutralises dozens in Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has
disclosed that it has killed 25
armed bandits and neutralised
more than a dozen in Zamfara
State in an operation fire for fire
against the notorious armed bandits.

According to a press statement by
the Air Force spokesman, Air
Commodore Ibikunle Daramola,
the operation was carried out by
the Air Task operation Diran
Mikiya, noting that an armed bandits logistics base at Ajia was
destroyed, killing 25 armed
bandits.

According to the statement, Ajia
and Wanna had been the hideout
of the armed bandits operating
within Birnin Magaji local
government area of the state.

He noted that the operation that
killed the armed bandits and
neutralised others was carried
out recently following Human
intelligence report which indicated
that the armed bandits were operating from a compound
within Ajia as logistics store to
complement their nefarious acts.

Daramola stated that the Alpha
jet, which he said was supported
by an intelligence, surveillance
and Reconnaissance (ISR)
platform, was perfectly used to
attack the compound, saying that the task force used strategies
which he said set the compound
ablaze.

Speaking further, he noted that
the action resulted in the
destruction of all the structures
and neutralised most of them,
adding that the few armed
bandits who escaped flew the axis but were taken out in follow-up attacks, stressing that those
who escaped the attacks were
tracked to Wanka where they
were neutralised by the team.

The Air Commodore therefore
appealed to members of the
public to endeavour to report any
suspicious movement of anybody
and give the military useful
information that would repel the machinations of armed bandits.

Herdsmen killings: Security agents storm Anambra community

Security operatives, comprising
the army, police and others have
been deployed to Mmiata Anam
community in Anambra West
Local Government Area following
a weekend attack on farmers of the community by persons
suspected to be herdsmen. The Police Public Relations Officer
in the state, Haruna Mohammed
disclosed this to DAILY POST in
Awka, the Anambra State capital,
while confirming the attack on the
farmers.

Though there were reports of the
killing of six persons, Haruna said
three persons were killed in the
Saturday’s attack by suspected
herdsmen.

He said the Commissioner of
Police in the state, Mustapha
Dandaura had ordered full-scale
investigation on the matter with a
viewing to bringing the culprits to
justice.
He said, “The command has
deployed two units of mobile
policemen and other regular
policemen to the area.

We are
working in conjunction with other
security agencies in the operation. “Three persons were killed in
the attack by suspected
herdsmen.

But we are on top of
the situation and I can assure you
that normalcy will soon returned
to the place.” On whether any arrest had been
made, Mohammed said he would
not want to speak further on
issues that would jeopardise
investigations, stating that the
outcome of the investigation would be made available to the
public at the appropriate time.
A source in Mmiata Anam who
pleaded anonymity told our
correspondent that the rampaging
herdsmen had raped lots of
women in the community, while
beheading six men during the attack. The state Commissioner for
Information and Public
Enlightenment, Mr C-Don Adinuba
said governor Willie Obiano was
currently overseas, but might cut
short his trip because of the development. Adinuba said a report of the
incident had been sent to the
governor.

Trump orders firing of U.S Secret Service Chief

Trump orders firing of U.S Secret Service Chief

President Donald Trump has
ordered firing of the U.S. Secret
Service Director, CNN reported on
Monday, a day after the
resignation of another top
national security official, Homeland Security Secretary
Kirstjen Nielsen.

The Secret Service is an agency
that provides protection for
president Trump and other top
U.S. officials.

Trump instructed his Acting Chief
of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, to fire
Secret Service Director, Randolph
Alles, CNN reported, citing
multiple administration officials.

The White House, Department of
Homeland Security and Secret
Service did not immediately
respond to requests for comment
from Reuters.

One official described the firings
to CNN as “a near-systematic
purge” at the Department of
Homeland Security, NAN reports.

The Secret Service director
reports to the director of
Homeland Security.

Nielsen, who oversaw Trump’s
bitterly contested immigration
policies during her tumultuous 16-
month tenure, resigned on Sunday
amid a surge in the number of
migrants at the border with Mexico.

Trump, seeking re-election in
2020, has taken a hard line
toward immigration since
becoming president in January
2017, and the issue may be a
central theme in next year’s election.
