Iranian Hackers Hack Into American Government’s Website

A US government website has been targeted by hackers claiming to be from Iran, according to a report by Metro UK.
The website for the Federal Depository Library Program, fdlp.gov, showed a picture of Donald Trump being punched in the face, along with a message from ‘the Islamic Republic of Iran’.
Below the President’s bleeding face were the words ‘Hacked by Iran Cyber Security Group Hackers’ and ‘this is only a small part of Iran’s cyber ability’.
The chilling warning said ‘martyrdom was (Suleimani’s)… reward for years of implacable efforts’.
He said the number 52 was symbolic of the number of American hostages taken by Iran ‘many years ago’.
In a series of sinister tweets Trump warned that some of those targets were ‘high level’ and important to Iranian culture.
He said: ‘Iran itself will be hit very fast and very hard. The USA wants no more threats!’
Iran has vowed harsh vengeance over a US airstrike in Baghdad that killed leader of the Quds force general Qassem Soleimani.

Ekiosa Market Erupted with fire in Benin City (Video)

Facebook user, Zion Ose who shared a video from the scene of the incident, alleged that the State’s Fire Service who were notified of the incident said they didn’t have water.
He wrote;

Ekiosa market, Benin, on fire. Over 1hour and there’s still no sign of fire service men. They said they don’t have water. Yet, over 30billion has been budgeted for the renovation of a building for fools!
Truth is, Nigeria is a mess. A joke. A murderer! You need to hear the sound of this raging fire like it’s war.
Fire razes Ekiosa market in Benin (video)
However the Edo State government who confirmed the incident, said they are investigating allegations of suspected arson over the market fire.
According to the Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy Mr. Crusoe Osagie, the increased fire incidents in markets around Benin metropolis may bear political connotation.
The statement reads;

“The state government has commenced investigation into the Ekiosa fire incident as we have received preliminary information indicating that the fire may have been caused by arsonists, who are bent on painting the government in bad light.
“The information we have show that the arsonists may be working on the instructions of the disbanded Edo Peoples Movements (EPM), who are shopping for avenues to discredit the Governor Obaseki-led government.
“It is also curious that when officials of the Fire Service and other stakeholders in emergency response mobilised to the site of the fire at Ekiosa market, they were attacked and chased away by the arsonists. This is a serious offence and government will not condone the action of these persons, as anyone found culpable will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
“Relevant stakeholders are being rallied around to carry out the investigations into the incident to establish the case of arson, even as government agencies and departments responsible for emergency response are being debriefed on what transpired when they responded to the incident.
“We will provide support to the affected traders to enable them return to their businesses. We are mindful that these traders would have stocked wares for the festive season. The state government will ensure that they’re fully compensated.”

They Want To Kill Me Because I Am Defending IPOB- Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer Speaks From Hiding

They Want To Kill Me Because I Am Defending IPOB- Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer Speaks From Hiding
Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has come out to state his own side of the story on how his home in Oriaifite, Anambra state was ”invaded” by police officers on Monday December 2nd.
The police had reportedly gone to his house for a search after it got information that some kidnap victims were being held in his compound. During the search, a fight ensued and two police officers were killed and their remains burnt. Ejiofor has since been declared wanted by the police over the clash and the death of the police officers.
In a video he made and posted online, Ejiofor said some persons are after his life because he is standing up for IPOB members and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

“On Sunday being the first day of December 2019, I was called at about 8pm to 9pm by the DPO and he never passed any message to me. Then in the morning, at about 6am, I got a call from my elder brother that police have invaded my premises led by the area commander himself. I requested to speak with the area commander and he obliged which conversation was so recorded.
“I requested to know why they were in my house because I wasn’t around. He said they came to arrest one of my wards who participated in a local conflict. He demanded to see me and I said I will be back around 10:30 in the morning. I told him I will come to see him at the station when I am back.
“He said okay, but he emphasised that time is of essence. That I should keep to time. Then I became worried, because I came back on the 24th of November 2019 for my brother’s burial and I have been around. I never had any issues with anybody, I never stepped out of my house. When I came back around 10, I told my mother I want to go see the area commander, but on a second thought I decided to go see my uncle who will accompany me.
“When I left the house for my uncle’s place, that served as a saving grace. We were on our way to the commander’s office taking an unconventional way when I got a call from my junior brother that the police were in my house and they opened fire on all living object, including persons in my house. So, I was like someone came about 6 in the morning, had a conversation with him on an offence I don’t even know anything about and I promised him as a lawyer that I am going to be in his office, then what happened in my house took me by surprise.
“I was confused about what was going on. As I speak now, I am homeless. They have burnt down the house. Many people who were running for safety were also killed. Over 20 person have been killed. My mum was gunned, and now receiving treatment. What is my offence for being IPOB lawyer?
“I decided to take refuge within the neighbourhood. The reports kept coming in as to the atrocities they were committing in my house including roping people around the area. At the end, they took away the bodies of those they killed in my house in their own van to a place along Onitsha-Owerri express road, burnt all of them and left. That is all I know that transpired.”
“I’ve committed no offence known to law. They are actually interested in getting me out of the way. They are interested in killing me because they have seen me as thorn in their flesh. Because I am defending members of IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu. Any place they arrest any IPOB member, they will always see me there. And I have defeated them in virtual all of the cases. The terrorism tag on IPOB is being challenged at the court of appeal and we are awaiting judgement,” he said.

Sokoto Recovers 102 Arms From Bandits

Sokoto Recovers 102 Arms From Bandits
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal on Thursday handed over 102 arms recovered from repentant bandits to the police.
According to the governor, 23 AK47, seven General Purpose Machine guns, 50 locally made rifles and two M4 magazines as well as 30 empty magazines were recovered from them.
This, he said, was in compliance with the terms of the on-going negotiation with them.
Tambuwal, however, called on states affected by banditry to embrace dialogue as a tool to fight the trend in order to have lasting peace.
“We have to arrive at a common stand to actualise a responsive approach that would bring peace especially in the North-west axis which is the worst hit by the menace,” he said.
He described the feat as a remarkable milestone which would not have been successful without the cooperation, support and understanding of all security agencies in the state.

Herdsmen attacks: News

Herdsmen attacks: News

Yoruba elders under the umbrella of Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE), on Thursday, urged state Houses of Assemblies in the South-West geo-political zone as well as Kwara and Kogi States to promulgate laws that will see an end to open grazing.
YCE, while kicking against open grazing within the South-West geopolitical zone, called on state legislators in these states, to urgently enact laws outlawing nomadic grazing in Yorubaland.
The group in a communiqué issued at the end of its meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital where new leaders were elected, said grazing routes of the pre-independence era and the first republic have been wiped off and in most cases taken over by housing estates.
YCE stated that grazing is no longer feasible because the cattle would destroy farmland and impoverish the people.
While reading the nine-point communiqué signed by the new President, Justice Ademola Bakre; Chairmen from Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun and Kwara States as well as Chairmen, UK and USA chapters, the Secretary-General of the group, Dr. Kunle Olajide, lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for suspending the RUGA project, urging him to do more to restore the dwindling confidence of Nigerians in his administration.
The group in the communiqué insisted that what the country needs now is true federalism, noting that the President must without delay revisit the 2014 National Conference report and the El-Rufai committee report on devolution of power.
The communiqué read, “The Council notes the palpable tension in the country arising from the frightening state of insecurity which has now gravitated from the North East and is gradually enveloping the six zones of the country. Tragic stories of kidnapping for ransom, murder, herdsmen/farmers clashes adorn the media virtually everyday.
“The unfortunate introduction of RUGA after the failed attempt to establish cattle colonies has heightened mutual suspicion amongst the ethnic groups because of what some Nigerians suspect could be sinister plans to hijack peoples land and establish militia of occupation in all parts of the country.
“The YCE believes Mr. President can heal the gaping wounds in the polity by reassuring Nigerians with his actions walking the talk on his preachment for unity. Politics and 2023 Presidency should be put at bay now. We are in a state of emergency; all hands must be on deck to lower the political temperature of the country.”
On the daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Mrs. Funke Olakunrinwho was murdered along Ore road by suspected herders, the elders called on governors of the Yoruba States, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Kwara, Kogi and Ondo to deploy technology to monitor our forests and flush out criminals masquerading as herdsmen from our forests”.
The new president, Justice Bakre, in his acceptance speech, said he was ashamed that people who are called elders were doing wrong things, noting that he, as the leader of the council, would not go cap in hands begging the governors for any largesse.

Lagos, USADF sign N3.6bn deal to train 15,000 youths — Daily Times Nigeria . Business news

The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) has signed a N3.6 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United States African Development Fund (USADF) to support 15,000 youths in the State.
Through this MoU, both parties will provide the equal sum of $2 million dollars every year for five (5) years ($10m in total) to provide skill development and internship opportunities to 3,000 youth between the ages of 18-35, yearly.
Speaking during the signing ceremony on Tuesday in Lagos, Mrs. Ifueko M. Omoigui Okauru, Chairman, LSETF’s Board of Trustees, said that the agreement was in line with its mandate to provide employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for Lagos residents.
Okauru disclosed that women will represent at least 50% of the beneficiaries.
The signing ceremony which took place in Washington DC, United States of America had top executives of both agencies, members of the U.S Congress, partners and international media present.
The chairman expressed her optimism on the impact of the partnership.
“This USADF-LSETF collaboration will enable a) the expansion of world-class vocational training centers available in the state; b) the development of 15,000 skilled youth for employment into targeted sectors;
c) the provision of internship cost subsidies to employers and; d) track real time placement of unemployed youth into jobs”.
In her remarks, Teju Abisoye, Acting Executive Secretary (LSETF) said, “With the recent Labor Force Report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showing a 6.7% drop in unemployment rate as well as Lagos state
providing the largest number of 740,146 jobs in the third quarter of 2018, it is obvious that the deliberate employment intervention policies of the Lagos State Government are finally impacting on job creation.
I am pleased to have USADF join us to create more jobs for our youth, whilst sustainably decreasing our alarming unemployment rate”
Also commenting, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the United States African Development Foundation, C. D Glin stated that, “We are proud to be in partnership with the LSETF, whose programmes have been independently verified to be making impact on the lives of young Nigerians.
This USADF-LSETF partnership further expands our existing commitment to investing in high impact initiatives hinged on generating income, providing financial solutions and causing a change in the African economy.”
The initiative includes training of participants and provision of internship opportunities over a period of six (6) months and is expected to result in sustainable job and entrepreneurship opportunities.
